"This was one of the
best networking nights
I've been to in a long time,
the people were great and so were the films"
Helen Jack, 4Docs
Doc Heads is a bi-monthly night for documentary filmmakers. Set up in 2009 by five filmmakers as a way of introducing all our filmmaking friends to each other, it's expanded to become one of the leading events in the documentary calendar.
Every two months, we screen a selection of the latest and best work in the field, and invite members to join us in an unpretentious evening of drinks and discussion. More info here
DOCUMENTARIES THAT MATTER WITH CHRISTOPHER HIRD
Katharine Round from DocHeads will be hosting an evening with acclaimed producer Christopher Hird on the 23rd May. His award-winning films have created a template for achieving political and social change and for challenging received opinions and attitudes. Christopher will be talking about his philosophy and approach to documentary in relation to a variety of his films, including The Battle for Barking, The End of the Line and McCullin. The event will be held at London Film School, Shelton Street, from 5.30pm. Email info@docheads.org for guest list.
DOC HEADS WITH DIRECTORS UK
Our next Docheads will be on 30th May in collaboration with Directors UK. We've also got some more exciting collaborations coming up with the Scottish Documentary Institute, East End Film Festival, Sheffield Doc/Fest and the London Short Film Festival. Watch this space!
